Scotty McCreery (born October 9, 1993)
McCreery was born in 1993 and grew up in Garner, North Carolina. He used to impersonate Elvis as a youngster, and started learning guitar at ten. He sang at his West Lake Middle School graduation, and also attended Garner Magnet High School. He was part of a vocal ensemble in his high school, Die Meistersingers, that performs across the United States. He started out singing tenor but switched to bass when his voice turned lower in his sophomore year. He won a country radio station singing contest called “Clayton Idol”, and was one of 36 finalists in a “Rip the Hallways” contest featuring teenage vocalists in North Carolina. He has performed at various local events.
McCreery is a fanatic of baseball, and was the pitcher for his team called the Garner Trojans. He said in an interview that one of his favorite artists is Garth Brooks.
McCreery auditioned for the tenth season of American Idol in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The judges were struck by his deep baritone voice unusual for his age. In the Hollywood group round, he joined the “Guaps” and became embroiled in the drama when Clint Jun Gamboa expelled Jacee Badeaux from his group. He later expressed regret for not standing up for Jacee. He was one of the five male vote getters in the semi-final round to advance to the Top 13.

Megia was born in Hayward, California. Megia has 2 sisters: Cynthia and Loreto Megia.Her parents, originally from Angeles, Pampanga in the Philippines, emigrated to the United States in 1968 and changed their name from Mejia to Megia. She attended Eden Gardens Elementary School in Hayward through the sixth grade, but was home-schooled online at California Virtual Academy,when the family moved to Mountain House California. Megia is a beautiful talented singer.
She has performed publicly from a young age. She has won singing competitions in San Jose and Saratoga and has sung the national anthem at San Jose Giants, Stanford football and San Francisco 49ers games. She also appeared on the TV show Showtime at the Apollo as the Kid Star of Tomorrow in 2008 when she was 13.
Prior to Idol, however, Megia was best known for her appearance on the fourth season of America’s Got Talent in 2009. She made it to the quarterfinals, but was cut in the Top 40 round. That same year, she was invited to sing at the David Foster and Friends concert in California. Thia sang “Who’s Loving You” by The Jackson 5/ Michael Jackson.She had her debut concert at Le Petit Trianon Theatre in San Jose, California on March 27, 2010.
